James joins the Healthy Future Pediatrics team after a distinguished career in the U.S. Air Force where he cared for the primary health care needs of children of military families. He received his Masters in Nursing from Oregon Health Sciences University and his PhD from the University of Arizona. James has been certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Primary Health Care since 1992.
Currently, James is an Assistant Professor at the University of Victoria, School of Nursing in British Columbia, Canada where he teaches Nurse Practitioners. James's role at Healthy Future Pediatrics is to provide year round part-time support to the provider team. His professional focus is to enhance health promotion and prevention activities for his clients and patients. Although he cares for pediatric populations 0-21 years of age, his special interests include adolescence health, sports medicine, asthma, and ADHD management.
Outside of professional practice and teaching James enjoys sailing, soccer, cycling, and reading. He has three adult children and currently lives with his wife Lori in Brentwood Bay, British Columbia, Canada.
