Amy grew up in Ohio, in a small rural town. She received her Bachelor of Nursing from The University of Cincinnati in 2003. After graduation, she worked as a RN in Maternity units for a year before returning to graduate school. She received her Master’s in the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program from The Ohio State University in 2006. After graduation she has worked in a Federally Qualified Health Center and then in a busy Pediatric Emergency Department in Ohio. She enjoys having an ongoing relationship with patient’s and families and wanted to return to primary care. She remains academically active, teaching nurse practitioner students. She has also served as a preceptor to many graduate students.
Amy has a strong interest in educating and working with families and patients. She likes to be active in the community and especially enjoys working with students. She and her husband welcomed a baby boy in the summer of 2010. Additionally, she loves travel, cooking and gardening.
